Macro Monday: Orange Dragonfly in the Garden

It was a beautiful day outside yesterday. The weather was warm but not hot, and I found this dragonfly resting in the garden. He remained still for over 30 minutes. Thankfully, I had my camera ready to capture some lovely closeups.
Family: Odonata (Libellula croceipennis)

  1. Hello fellow Texan [I have a son living in H-town!!]…and I’m in Corpus. Love your dragon flies. I’ve tried so often to capture one on camera, but to no avail.

I have a really nice camera and I think that makes a difference. I was lucky that this dragonfly remained perfectly still while I snapped away. I took over 50 shots and decided that 10 were worth keeping.
