Yellow Bells ‘Sangria’ Esperanza

Yellow Bells aka Esperanza (Tecoma stans ‘Sangria’) looks delicious and adds a sunny spice to your garden. I first spotted this variety at Buchanan’s Native Plants in November 2011. I had never seen this color before. The color of the trumpet flowers are more complex than the traditional sunny yellow variety ‘Gold Star’.

  1. Cool color. How big does it get relative to the standard yellow bells? For me, the ‘Orange Jubilee’ variety gets substantially bigger and I’m wondering if this orange is similar in growth habit.

I have not been able to find out anymore information on it. I’ll check tomorrow when I visit the nursery.

    Hi Jackie,

I’m in Taylor, TX. I saw some of those Yellow Bells yesterday for the first time, and from a distance they looked like crossvine. Gorgeous plant! I grow the yellow variety here, but look forward to getting one of the others soon.

I’m really enjoying your blog! Happy trails, bobbi c.

      Hi Bobbi,
Yes I agree. I think I prefer this color to the yellow. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
